Full service and always wonderful.
The pricing is very reasonable. This is great old school Italian American food with Modern Flare. As Darrell said 25 dollars will get you a great pasta/sandwich and a beer/wine.
Bread is from Tre Mari Bakery. Dried Rigatoni and Spaghetti from Italy, gnocchi and fresh Pasta for specials made in house.
Sure can!
Nope, you just have to show up and wait..
They do take out only
Yes
The portions at this place are insane and the staff is extremely friendly. Do make note that they do not make reservations, so if you plan on going here expect to be waiting for up to 45 minutes. Not to worry though, there are some great vintage shops to browse while you wait. The BIGGEST portion at this place is the spaghetti. The first time I went I ordered the gnocchi which wasn't as big but still satisfied!
A very much Bloor West type of vibe. Delicious Italian food, with the a homemade feel to it, and some hip culture to elevate the atmosphere. Reasonably priced and super friendly service, feels like a bunch bros who love Italian food got together and wanted to share their love for their mamas recipe to the city. Amazing tomato sauce, meatball had mouth watering flavour, and the caesar was drowned in garlic flavour. Line ups are long but came out feeling it was worth it, 5 stars.
Sugo is UNREAL. Service is solid, food is amazing, and it's super affordable. Every single bite was legit so good. I tell everyone about this place for some great Italian food. Just wish there were a few more tables to sit down and eat but I guess that's what take out is for.
Heard about this place from other foodies. Had to make my way down and try it out. This place is a GEM. If you have not tried it you definitely need to. This spot is small but the plates are definitely not. From the Calamari to the Pasta to the Sandwiches. You get every bang for you buck! Highly recommended to go and try if your ever in the area. I will be coming back that's for sure.
Drive by there a few times and always looks busy. Finally had the change to visit. Small location with about 25 seats. Simple menu with Pastas and Sandwiches. We had the Gnocchi ($13) and the Rigatoni ($14). The Gnocchi size was small.... however the Rigatoni was overloaded and worth a great 2 meals! If you get the “bundle†then it comes with a salad and meat option. 1 large meatball, was good. The chicken was 2 good size breast, bearded and topped with sauce, was worth it more! If you’re going to visit, expect a wait.... visited around 3pm and didn’t have to wait as a table just opened. It’s quick service..... Sit....Order.... Eat.... Leave!! Like this review if it’s helpful! Will visit again!!
They have a long wait, and it's really well deserved. If you're planning on going here, plan with an extra hour in mind. The staff are great, friendly and personable, and the food is unbelievably good. High quality, simple, delicious affordable Italian food. It feels like you've stepped into an Italian restaurant in a Scorsese film and I love everything about it. Special shoutouts to our server, Alex!
There was quite a line that, so my friends and I decided to order takeout back to work.Spaghetti comes with meat sauce. It was still warm after we came back to the office. It was very delicious for the price. Would definitely go again, and order with extra cheese! :P
It was pretty good fare, got it delivered. Had higher expectation, but maybe it's good when you dine in.Updated: Changed to 3 stars due to thoughtful response. I will visit and if justified update this review.
Small menu, daily special. Great pasta and sandwiches. Staff are attentive and interactive. Arrive early as seating is limited. Servings are huge. Boxing fans must visit.
Delicious food. Delicious pasta. Delicious tiramisu. 10/10 would recommend. It’s a small place so we had to wait in line for what felt like forever. But once we were finally seated, the food was worth it. However because it’s so tiny, our table was right next to people waiting in line and it felt like everyone in line was just watching us eat. That’s why I took the tiramisu to go. It tasted fantastic regardless.
Sugo has been on my list of places to eat at for a while now, so I was happy we could finally try it out. We got there on a Wednesday evening around 7:30pm and there was already a long waiting list. We decided to wait since it was our first time here and we really wanted to try it out. The staff was very accommodating and courteous and kept checking on us to see if we needed anything while we waited. We were offered the mozzarella sticks which were delicious. Over an hour later we were finally seated. The service was prompt and we placed our order for the Rigatoni and Gnocchi, without meat. Both were like a comforting home cooked meal. The flavours were good, and I’m sure if we got the paste with meat it would be delicious as well, but I’m not sure if I would be willing to wait for an hour or more just to get a table here. All in all a good experience. Try it if you’re willing to wait it out for over an hour or get there really early!
Such an amazing place! My friend's kept telling me I need to go and that there will be a line but don't worry it'll be worth it. I have to say - they are right! Service is great - the staff are funny, loud, and amazing. Everything you'd expect from a mom and pop restaurant. Large portions - I'm a big guy and I had leftovers for the following day. Dessert was delicious and mozzarella was delicious! If you haven't tried it I suggest you do. It's a small location so you'll probably have to wait outside but it's worth it!
Amazing food! I've tried all three of their staple pastas and each one was great. Amazing sauce and you can buy some when you leave. Caprese salad and the meatball are my favourite sides. The wait can be quite long though so I suggest going for lunch during the week to beat the crowds.
The ultimate in comfort food. I crave this restaurant every single day. Thank you for everything you do in the community and for just simply... being the BEST!
Picked up Sugo last night and it did not disappoint. Used their website to order which was very convenient, and made the pickup quick and easy since I only had to pull up and give them my name and off I went. The rigatoni, the spaghetti, the Caesar salad and the stuffed peppers were all fantastic! The rigatoni was definitely my favourite. 10/10 will eat again!
Random find but amazing spot for simple delicious Italian food. Ordered the calamari, Cesar salad, meatball sandwich. All were killer. The coffee was bomb too.
Delicious, quality, flavourful American-Italian food served in a fun, cozy restaurant. I really enjoyed this place. Food is reasonably priced with very generous portions. Spaghetti was my favourite item that we ate. Would highly recommend, but know that they don’t take reservations so you may have to wait for a table.
Amazingly fast homemade Italian food. Portions are huge and super delicious. Staff always treats everyone friendly. Dinner time can be quite busy. Prices are very reasonable. I have personally had the spaghetti and their spaghetti special, tiramisu, house red wine, and caesar salad.
This place truly makes you feel like you stepped into New York. Small, literally a handful of tables. But the food is the best home cooked style Italian food. The spaghetti and meatballs is like something my friends Nonna (Italian for grandma) made for us growing up. You can taste the freshness. If you’re looking for something fancy, this ain’t it. But definitely run like an authentic family run Italian restaurant. The guys literally sound like Italian New Yorkers (and look the part too). The menu is limited, but they do what they do, VERY well. What’s not to be confused is that it’s very much a build your own combo style. When you order the spaghetti, it’s just that. If you want the meatball; then you need to order that additionally and a salad etc. It’s all a-la-cart. But absolutely delicious. Choose your pasta, sauce and meat option and away you go.
This is Italian food heaven!!! Haven’t tried anything that I wouldn’t like. It’s a pretty small place, so gets crowded easily and you might have to wait for a table but it’s definitely worth the wait.Flavours are so good, portions are huge and price is very affordable. And the staff is amazing!!!Love it and will be back as soon as I can!
Food was so good. I can’t wait to come back. My favourite was the garlic bread and rigatoni with the cream sauce. The seating is limited and the space is small. But the food and prices are worth the wait.
This place embodies the essence of a good Italian restaurant. It's an intimate, friendly, family vibe. There aren't overwhelming menu options to choose from but what they serve is perfected. As soon as you walk in, from the way you are being greeted to the boxing posters on the wall, this place oozes originality & delicious food. An all around outstanding dining experience. Highly recommended!
Here's a text I sent a friend after eating here."Went to Sugo last night... The meatball is the best. I've. ever. had. The spaghetti meat sauce is in the top ten. Ever. Maybe top 5. I'm including homemade stuff from all the Italian friends."This place is remarkable. No reservations. You put your name on a list and wait to be called. We had drinks while we stood, and it was worth every second of the wait. The prices are so reasonable; pasta $15, veal parm $13, salad $8-12. And the portions are BIG.Great for a date or casual hangout. They do take-out, and the food comes quick. If you haven't yet been here, you're missing out.
Some of the best Italian food that I have had! So authentic and delicious with the best service, most fun loving staff! Be ready to wait in line but it's SO worth it! Cannot wait to go back!
One the best Italian restaurant in Toronto. It’s located at Bloor west, close to the Landsdowne subway station. There are no reservations. Don't forget to have cash or debit card, THEY ACCEPT JUST CASH OR DEBIT.
Lovely place with delicious food. Had to wait for 1 and half hour to get a table but so worth the wait.Definitely recommend ✨â¤ï¸
Unbelievable! Delicious! Very small so get there early.. service is congenial and efficient
This might be a review with a very unpopular opinion, given the swarm of 5 star reviews from 700+ people. Service : 5/5 for sure! The wait staff are helpful, attentive and welcoming! Restaurant Space: very tight space. It gets SUPER loud and the crowd can get rowdy. The acoustics of the restaurant really makes the room louder than it is when theres a full house. The decor is like a cute diner. Food: the meats in the sandwiches are much more flavourful than the giant meatball. The spaghetti dish was rather mediocre and bland in my opinion. Missing a depth of flavor. Olives are super fresh and delicious!Portions: grand. Cant complain! Everything was plated beautifully. Olives: $7. Spaghetti with meatball $17. Veal sandwich: $13. When you go on a nice day, expect to be on a waiting list.
Their food is so good! Huge portion and taste just like pasta at your Nonna's house. We all know that you have to wait for a couple hours sometimes to eat here then come prepare. Leave your name with them and go walk around or call and order for pick up if you don't wanna wait that long. Dont you wanna know why a lot of people are willing to wait? Just try it yourself.
Best Italian food in Toronto! It’s a long wait but worth it. It is even better than pasta that I had in Italy. Love the simplicity of the menu, the vibe of the place and the friendliness of the staff. We sampled everything and it was phenomenal, Sugo expect to have me as a regular.
Love this super packed, but super sweet Italian restaurant. I feel like I'm visiting Italian family friends place. Rigatoni with rose sauce is my favorite. Add meatball if you want more protein in your spaghetti. Also their portion is huge, so I always have leftover for late night snack.
One of my favourite place to go to. Very busy, inexpensive, with delicious food. As a picky eater I have been in many restaurants, even in luxuries restaurants as well, however this place is way better than any other high end restaurant. The owner is always going out of his way to talk each customers how is the food, and how are they. He actually care about guests and their opinion, and all of his staffs always go extra mile to make each guest satisfied. I really LOVE this restaurant, the food is DELICIOUS. I always feel like I am in food heaven whenever I come here ðŸ˜ðŸ™ˆ
Although the place was mega busy and the reservation system was a bit poor, we actually like the place so much! The customer service was definitely excellent! the dish was very fresh and so nice! the price was very reasonable!I would give 5 million stars x) , if i can. thanks for all your great service!
The go-to Italian spot in downtown Toronto. The staff are incredibly friendly and courteous. I always get the rigatoni with eggplant parmesan on the side. And its never disappointed. Highly recommend you go when you have time to kill, cause there are lineups. And the lineups do not lie.
